Hi, does anyone know where I can get a book of inlay patterns, something I could scan and run off a copy to glue to the shell to be cut. There has to be something out there but I have not run across it yet, thanks, Red

Red, Dover Publications has a number of books with patterns that often come with a CD Rom of the same patterns.

Another real good source is children's colouring books...I've found interesting animals and flowers that lend themselves nicely to inlay.

Another good place to get ideas that work well for inlay is stained glass web sites.

This is the funniest one, but if you think about it, it's true- go to a tattoo place and look through one of their books. Man, they have a ton of designs of all sorts that can be adapted to inlay.

I have found a couple of books that are quite good for this type of thing...

One is a small (pocket sized) book of japanese line drawings, and another is a zoology full of pen and ink drawings of plants and animals.

It's amazing where you can find inspiration!
