That is a beauty Casey! How did you do the end wedge? Also, what gives the neck the dark look, is it a dark pore fill, stain, or perhaps a walnut neck?

I engraved the end wedge after the body was assembled and filled the engraving with a lacquer stick, available from Brownell's. The neck is stained Honduran Mahogany.

That is awesome! You must have masked off your rosette before you sprayed the sunburst. How did you do it?

3M fine line tape, available at automotive paint and body supply shops. I brush lacquer onto the rosette and purflings after spraying the burst to level it up. I also have to brush some color onto the edge of the sound hole to even things up.

I have used fine line tape to mask off a rosette, but found that the tape wanted to wrinkle as it made the turns around the rosette. I got it to work, but it was a little problematic...

I haven't clicked in for quite some time. What a beautiful instrument to find on my first day back!

Rather than bending the tape around the rosette you can mask it with straight strips of cellophane tape and cut around the edge with a razor blade.
