Iv'e been using MLCS for router bits but they seem to be kind of on the cheaper end of the spectrum. What might be everyones preference for mid level to nicer router bits? Now that Ive upgraded to a JessEM Router table and lift I would like my router bits to last a bit longer.

Most of the bots I use are straight flute and pattern bits. fyi

CMT bits last the best for me. Routerbitworld has good prices and selection.

Whiteside for most things, as they are well made and durable. We have a few CMT round-over bits and they have held up well. The Freud Diablo bits from Home Depot will do in a pinch, but the Whitesides seem to be about the same price through our suppliers and are better quality.

I have used Whiteside and Amana and have had good luck with them. They are not cheap but hold up well. I will buy cheaper bits for profiles I don't think I will use that often. I also use high speed steel bits which can be sharpened sharper than carbide and give a cleaner cut, but probably wouldn't interest you if you are looking for bits that - stay sharp - longer. I've heard estimates that carbide will retain usable sharpness 40 times as long as HSS.

Where is everyone finding the best prices for white side router bits? I use the router a lot so typically buy in bulk.

Whiteside bits .I got mine from woodcraft. when they have a sale on them . Check their fliers. Also they give you a 10 percent discount on your birthday.Ask. I will also use cheap bits, from amazon or evil bay for seldom used jobs . e.g. 1/8 inch roundover bits

Whiteside here too. Usually from Woodcraft because it's convenient for me.
