Looks very nice!

The adjustment knob is graduated in thousandths?

What about back lash in the adjuster?

The knob has .002" graduations- .1"/full rev.

The screw is set to approximately .001-002" backlash.

This is pretty much identical to a UHMW base that luthier Sylvan Wells taught me to make years ago out of hardware store materials, except ours were not nearly as precision as this one looks. The mechanics and adjustment system is the same. Having used the shop made one for many years, I can tell this one will work great. If I had an extra $300.00, I'd buy it!

Very nice! In that price range I think your main competition will be the Bishop Cochran base which has a plunge feature. Yours will accommodate a larger variety of trimmers though.

I have the Bishop Cochran plunge one too, the Dremel version. I tend not to use the plunge base much. I don't find it very user friendly.I love it for other tasks than plunge routing. Maybe the the laminate trimmer version is better, but they make it for the Bosch Colt which is pretty much a garbage tool compare to the new Makita's. I made a commitment to the Colts a few years ago and ended up getting rid of several in short order. The new Makita is very nice, especially the cordless one. I have both the corded and cordless versions. I seldom use anything other than the cordless one now, except when I need to use a foot switch. I never though a cordless router would be a good tool until I had one. They're great!

On the list! The adjustment knob is an improvement over the Wells-Karol scribed/dimpled Telecaster control knob. We briefly fitted a salvaged digital caliper to one of our Wells-Karol jigs, but found that it was more work for little return...a direct-reading adjustment knob would seem to be about the right level of fussiness.

I see the video demonstrates the use of my favorite compact router.

Definitely on the wish list!
