Actually the neck idea was not mine. I cannot take credit for it. I had a
mark on the mahogany that I didn't like. On previous guitars, I had Tony F
color the neck to match the body. (3 cocobolo guitars) I asked him if he
could do the same to try to cover up the mark.   We talked about some sort
of vintage look and he came up with the idea of a mild sunburst....Brilliant I
thought. His idea....it looks great.

Andy -- that is an absolutely stunning looking guitar. I like the Rosette it makes a nice bold statement that compliments the Macassar and paua purfling.

If you decide you don't want it let me know my full initials are A A A Z as well

BTW: For us northerners just now seeing the first hints of spring -- it's lovely to see the flora and fauna of La Jolla in the background. Just last night my wife and I were talking about how much we enjoyed San Diego and La Jolla when we were there about 6 years ago.

Are your initials really AAAZ...no way
As far as La Jolla Goes...there is nothing like it. When I took my wife out of
here in 1995 I thought she was going to leave me!!! We went to Boston, St.
Louis and Seattle before returning home to San Diego. You just cannot beat
this place

Yup -- Anthony August Andrew Zlahtic. (I'll PM you my shipping address )

As coincidence would have it, I had a childhood friend named Andy Zimmer as well!

La Jolla -- nothin like a dinner out watching the sunset. You are a lucky man Dr. Zimmer (not to mention -- a pretty darn good builder)!Anthony Z38809.4983680556

My last name is Zimmerman, not Zimmer
Regardless, you cannot have my guitar.
Maybe if and when I die, I will put it in my will to you since you are probably
the only other person with those initials

Andy, my apologies for getting your surname wrong.

I'd be more than happy to have my attorney review your will.

Nice guitar, Andy. I really like the rosette. It's DIFFERENT, so, yeah, it looks weird if you are hung up on preconceptions, but if you take it on its own terms, I don't think there's really anything out of proportion about it at all. It conveys an interesting sense of spaciousness I find appealing. I think it's quite elegant. And I'm a guy who's not usually much of a fan of pearl/abalone on guitars.

I can't quite make out the tuners. What are those?

The tuners are Waverly's 3 on a plate with ebony knobs

Good job and a half!
