I'm new to using Endurovar. People mentioned the "ambering" affect it has on the color of the wood. I was a little surprised at how strong that affect is. Here are two bodies - one finished in Mohawk instrument lacquer and the other (smaller body) in Endurovar. The Endurovar needs to be sanded and buffed, so may lose some of the ambering, but I'm sure it will be noticable.
For some woods it may enhance their look and others, not so much.

Personally, I like the richness of the amber tint. But, if it is not what are looking for, using something else would be a good idea.

Everything the same up to topcoat? i.e. same sealer and filler on both?

The wood on both guitars is sealed/filled with West System epoxy.
I'm not saying the ambering is good or bad, but rather something to be aware of with Endurovar. Like adding toner to the lacquer it can sometimes pull things together. In the pictures above I prefer the natural color contrasts of the guitar on the left, but I'm not so unhappy with the guitar on the right that I would strip the finish and start over. I do think when that finish is leveled and buffed it will regain some of the original color and contrast.

Clay, this is not unexpected. Endur-var has a built in amber tint that will not go away with finish and buff.

I think you are right. I sanded and buffed it out by hand and didn't see an appreciable amount of color change. It did change slightly and if I was willing to thin the finish to where I would risk sand throughs it might have changed more, but I think Endurovar will always push things a little towards "cool brown".
I have a set of Louro Preto bent and ready to go. It is very similar to Bocote (cousins) so it is already toward the cool brown side of things so the Endurovar should work fine.
There are a lot of things I like about the Product, but the color shift is not one of them.

Yup. And don't even think about trying to repair it. That is the thing I like least about it. I've given up on it. I'm opting for for repairable finishes for now.
