I've not been able to access the forum since Friday. It was hanging at the same address that Dennis pointed out. For days. I'm limited a bit since I can't load external software like AdBlock on my company laptop. I think the forum software needs a better timeout function in its page building logic.

It's BAAAACCCKKK! For me, at least, slow loading started again this morning. This site has been reasonably responsive for the last couple of weeks so I thought this morning's slowdown might be from an overloaded server. I came back this evening and it's still VERY slow. I've timed my last several page loads here and they took 20, 24, 18, 3, 28, 20, 32, 21, and 27 seconds. The 32 second load was after I disabled AdBlock Plus on this site. The following 21 second load was an immediate reload of the same page, followed by 27 seconds waiting for this page to load. Not responsive, and it doesn't seem like AdBlock Plus is the issue. Are others having a problem?

Yup, stuck on partnernetwork.ebay.com again.

Lightning fast for me. W10, Firefox, Ghostery.

It was slower than normal for me yesterday, but not as bad as it had been at it’s worst. It seems to be back to normal this morning.

It would be awesome to not have these problems. I would pay a subscription fee to avoid them.

So, yesterday and today, we are back to having unusually slow loading here on the OLF.

Lance, you really should deal with this.

If I'm not mistaken just removing the ad plugin for ebay will fix it.



Also, Don, there is a Patreon for OLF if you want to donate. I'm not sure it will help with this though. This is not a hosting / bandwidth issue. It's an issue with the ad provider. The only way to fix it permanently would be to remove the ad / plugin.

Worked OK after hosing the snow off of the satellite dish.

How does one remove the ad plug-in, Brad? I realize that I am demonstrating the fact that there are big holes in my computer literacy.

Lance needs to edit the page.

What you can do in the meantime is turn on an ad-blocker for your browser. If you use Chrome something like this: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... cddilifddb

Wow. It is getting slower here.

We have recently had a software update over at the MIMF and things are quite zippy.

I followed the advice of another post and use Firefox, which seems to avoid the problem.

Something happened. It is working MUCH better this morning.

Whatever happened, it sure improved matters for me. Very fast for me this morning.

Yes. Much better today. And the ebay advert is still in place. ????

I did this. The speed went from very slow to fast instantly although the eBAY ad is still there.

Might explain why I'm not having any problems, I've had AdBlock+ installed with Chrome for a long time.
