I'd be interested to hear feedback from those who 'hire on' for this, after 6 months 'on the job'. No telling what RB's shop will be like. I once worked at the Dobro workshop in Long Beach, CA. in the 70's, and I'd never do that again, unless desparate. While attending a guitar making school, I spoke with one of the shop employees/instructors, asking him what guitars he made for himself, he laughed, and said that he didn't make any for himself. Making guitars in a production environment is hard work, and doesn't pay well. Not for the 'starry eyed' hobbyist.

OTOH, it might be a great opportunity for someone with real dedication to persue guitar making as a career. Having RB on a resume would certainly be a big plus.

How's this for a missed opportunity...I learned a couple of decades after the fact that, when I got out of the Army in the early '70s, I lived about 90 miles from Richard Schneider's shop in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was always willing to take on apprentices in those early days, and I could have learned alongside Abe Wechter! Schneider was consulting for Gibson at the time, and Wechter worked in the R&D department. I had enough money to support myself for about a year, my car was payed-for, and studying with Schneider would have probably gotten me into Gibson if I wanted to work there. I didn't know about it!!!
Joe Georgia sounds pretty special even if it's no longer the summer of 73. No wonder Ray Charles wrote the song.
Actually he didn't write it It was written by Hoagy Carmichael with words by Stuart Gorrell.
