Yay as well, my only thing is I joined on 12/31/05 and have never received anything from them at all. Not even a confirmation. I contacted them and they assure me I am a member. I have also paid and registered for the convention weeks ago and other than being charged I have no confirmation of anything yet. I am not ticked off yet but I am wondering if this is typical for GAL. ASIA seemed much more on the ball with this sort of thing.
Don't ya hate it when the new guy starts complaining

They are indeed a little slow on responses - usually no email acknowledgements. They are busy delivering Big Red Book 4 right now.

But the mag is great - I've been a subscriber for about 2 years and enjoy it immensely.

Fantastic. I'm really glad to hear it. I hope that any GAL members who aren't hanging out here yet will get their tushies over here.

And Evan - fear not, have faith, the GAL will not let you down. Also, if you can make it to the convention in June, you will find that GAL conventions are second to none. From what I know about the plans for this upcoming one, I expect it will be the best ever. Not to be missed!

Evan...Tiny staff does everything--even print the magazine themselves--but, by golly, you can count on receiving issues quarterly! The first issue of '06 was probably just mailed (they publish in March, June, September and December), so you'll get yours about the same time as everyone else. You should also get a certificate of membership and other peripherals. Maybe they just waited to mail that with your first issue.

Welcome to the Guild of American Luthiers!!!

My mailman (who's name is Red and he sings so we call him Red the singing mailman) brought me a nice little package amidst the huge stack of bills. Red book #4!!! I thumbed through it this evening and, like the others, looks like a wealth of information.
