Tobacco sunburst was the name i was looking for last night and couldn't remember, i think i've seen it on Mario's site which was a little lighter than the one Brock showed, it's on one of Mario's mandolin, very nice!

Hesh, she looks outsanding, as I expected. Top drawer, my friend!

I remember Brock's guitar with the very light burst and it looked amazing. If you're going for burst, have Tony do it so it's barely noticeable, lighter than light, so to speak. Probably something more in a caramel or tobaco burst.

That, or maybe it's your turn to try your hand at FP? Whatever you do, I'm sure she'll turn out to be a winner in all respects. Cheers.

As I was reading I was waiting for someone to suggest a burst similar to
the one lance posted. I pictured a single color fade as soon as I saw the
top and actually DO picture coloring the koa. If you could add a subtle
brown to it, to get it somewhere between where it will be naturally and
the english oak John How recently posted, I believe it would be
phenominally beautiful. Or you can play it tame and do natural.

Hesh, clear gloss finish, wood is just to nice, I would check out the TruOil finished guitars mentioned earlier, nice. I am a big fan of Behlens Rock Hard Varnish. No burst, to nice of wood.

Great work on everything

Hesh
With Koa...just a high gloss....
Don't do anything else. I only used a sunburst on the neck.

If you absolutely cannot control yourself and refrain from insulting this guitar with a sunburst , do the most subtle burst possible, as others have suggested. That would probably look very nice.

Not only do I think that wood - even relatively plain wood - is inherently more beautiful than anything that can be done with paint, but on this guitar, in particular, I think the paint on the top and neck would compete with the snakewood and koa for attention, not complement it.

Once it's all finished, I think the plain, humble mahogany neck will look perfectly handsome as well. Next time, though, you might want to think about putting a koa neck on a koa guitar. Todd Rose38811.3079050926
