I know quite well WHAT they are, a process developed by John Greven. Just about the only synthetic material I’ve used for over 12 years. The were available pre-made from LMII for many years, but I noticed when I bought one last fall the the selection was poor. Now it’s almost nonexistent.

If John was still involved in making these, perhaps he just isn’t anymore and no one is taking over. They were pricy, but the best quality pickguard I’ve ever seen. It would be sad if they’re no more.

Same question. They were my favorites and to date only one vendor I have found with any kind of selection and mucho $$$.

I wish I knew also. I love the ones I used to get. The ones on the site just don’t cut it for me. Last guitar, I just ended up making my own, which is ok but not as nice as the old ones.

Mario's are very nice and recommended. John was selling his business a few years ago not sure if he's still even in business. Mind you I don't know this is just what I've heard and read in the grape vine.

I have made my own from Mario’s sheet stock and it’s nice but I liked John’s colors better.

Every time I see a picture of Willie's guitar I cringe. Its done and should be in a museum. I know its got history. I cannot imagine the work done it to keep it from buckling in on itself (which would be a shame).

I've contacted Lmii a couple times since Christmas asking about them. They told me they were still going to carry them but were working with a way to manufacture them...something about their process. Hmmm, StewMac's tortoloid are starting to look better.
