If you're using a Fox style bender as shown in the book (mine's a double width one), and those are the outsides of the sides in the pic, they will go face up in the bender for a right handed player. Check out Fig 8-2.
Another tip, but likely too late for this build as you have profiled the sides, is to put any swirly grain where the bending is least. So that "knot" close to the waist may have worked out better if the head end was at the other end of the side panels.
Trevor yes! I slapped my head when I really registered where that knot was. I hope it doesn’t cause too much issue.
I’m using a standard bending machine from blues creek.
I’ll triple check before I go to the bender what side is up and stuff.
I mean... it should just be like a standard bend with a preferred outside right
