is guitar #2. It's a dreadnaught in EIR from Colonial Tonewoods and Lutz spruce from High Mountain Tonewood. I got the rims together and the back is in progress:

Binding will be flamed maple I got from RC Tonewoods. I also got some of his 'mahog-a-lam' purfling that will go into the top. Here I am gluing some b/w purfling onto the edge of the binding:

That looks great Wayne. Do you know if gluing the b/w on the binding is
the norm. Then bending them together? Good luck.

Ross,

I don't know if its the norm or not. I know that for the purfling between the binding and the top I can just route a ledge and glue the purfling in before the binding.

I wanted contrasting lines between the binding and the sides. It seemed like gluing the purfling and binding together and bending/installing them together would be easier. I am worried about heat releasing the glue when I bend them. I'll find out this weekend .

Same combo of woods that i have for 2 and 3, you're a bit ahead of me bud, way to go!

Gluing the purflings so that they are on the side? Yes that works fine. I've done that with maple purfling lines glued onto EIR bindings. No delamination anywhere, after 3 guitars worth done.

I think one of the later Titebonds, I think the Titebond II, exhibits great heat resistance... Or was that Titebond III???... hmmm...

Titebond II is the right glue for this job. (It's pretty much the only job for which Titebond II is the right glue.)

This will be a first for me, so I will see how things hold together. I may pick up some of the Tightbond II if things afll apart from the heat.
