I see every shape of mold for sale, but practically none of my fav shape, the Taylor grand auditorium. Found one on Aliexpress but was hoping for a North American option.

Ever seen one for sale or know who may make them a little closer to home?

Thanks,

Tai Fu is always extolling it's virtues (AliExpress).
You might contact John Hall at BluesCreek and see if he would be interested. He mostly is known for Martin stuff, but no reason he couldn't make Taylor molds.

Very cool, hadn’t seen that Taylor on Johns site.

For clarity, I meant the one with the brace locations laid out, for repeatability as I draw each one by hand in my 4 grand auditorium guitars I braced.

Just to be clear, are you inquiring about a body outside mold, or template?

I probably messed up the terminology. I meant template like the acrylic thingie shown above. Hope that clears it all up [:Y:]

I've bought plenty of stuff from AliExpress and they've all arrived without any issue. I find it ridiculous that most of the items have free shipping or lower shipping costs than I could get sending a dinky package from where I live to an adjacent city. The stuff that ships via e-packet has generally arrived impressively fast.

Well..maybe I should take back my statement about economical shipping. Looking at the guitar templates from Hongyin, the cost of shipping is almost double the cost of the actual template itself. :P

I actually read that very same article before. I believe the same applies to Canada as well but I think the subsidizing is basically ending or has already ended.

Yes, for people making their own, polycarbonate is the way to go, much better than acrylic for this type of thing. It's clear, machines well as in way better plus it's very tough. It won't break if you drop it.
