Here's another shot for comparison of the sizes. This is the aforementioned Garret-Wade parrot vice with the the 3-D adapter. I bought it for my daughter Mamie in 2014 when it first came out and you had to drill and tap a hole through about 1-1/2" of steel. They gave you a cheap 11mm drill and tap and even with a big tap handle I needed a cortisone shot in my hand !!! I lined the jaws with leather, and I made a 3" riser the shape of the vice base out of a block of wood and 6 years later she still uses it as it gets the work up high. I also made a wood jawed leg vice which she used for a bit but didn't bond with, but her partner Chloe adopted it.
