I've seen all kinds of people attempt Flight of the Bumblebee on guitar and have never seen anybody come close to playing it properly up to speed without effects, etc. Until now. Check this guy out:

He does it all with a straight face. If I could play that fast, I'd be grinning ear to ear. I swear, he's the Rainman on guitar. You gotta see it to believe it.

Only the Zootman can play like that, have the woods he offers, AND drop down to the age of around 18 as part of a day's work! Man your my new hero- I needed one too!

Bob's playing was a lot better than the so-called "Flight of the Bumblebee" song, which I didn't particularly think was all that great. No offense to the gentleman playing it...

Kids! They're incredible in how quickly they pick up guitar music. My sons play that same piece...it blows my mind evvery time I hear them.

I sure wish I had a clip of 17 year old Brittni Paiva playing the William Tell Oveture on her tenor ukulele. It is really amazing to see the speed and movement combined with perfect sound.

That kid is amazing for his age, I used to play in a Prog rock band and later in a folk/rock band. Now I think I'll start up a classsical/rock band. Trouble is I don't think my 55 year old fingers would move as quick as that kids! There are a lot of pros being paid to play a whole lot worse than that kid. I'd love to try that with my Baroque consort!!

Man, that ain't right! I feel more like the kid, but I'm 43 tomorrow, so I guess in reality I'm more like the Bumblebee guy! The kid's doing a great job...I mean, I could play the song alright, but I don't know how he REMEMBERS the thing! Maybe he's staring a tab on the floor or something...of course, the memory's failing now from what it used to be I guess...

Truly amazing! Also, very sobering when I think about my own (limited) accomplishments on the guitar. Makes me feel a little like Tom Lehrer when he said, at the ripe old age of 37, that "by the time Mozart was my age, he had been dead for two years."

That old dude was sloppy as hell, not at all impressive and my video clip had a heavy metal backing track?? Tha was just wierd in my book.

   Wow, I'm looking forward to some of the guys here posting their videos of themselves playing Flight Of The Bumblebee better than the guy in that first video. Do you realize that he's just a guy playing in his living room?

   That would probably be a great thread....OLFers playing their favorite licks or pieces.

   I'm never one to belittle someone pulling off something that 99% of the players hearing can't even think to.
