O.K I know it's been a while since I have done the fish thing, but here 'goes again. These are Auriga butterfly fish. One passing through, the others heading into the scene. This is going to top off a scene with a really hopefully cool twist to it. Butterfly fish meet butterfly insects. We'll see how it goes.

Always a treat to see your work Craig! I really like the combination of the inlay with choice of headstock plate wood. I can actually visualize how it'll look with the tuners...yup yup yup ...like it.

I always appreciate all the positive energy you guys send out- it keeps one pushing!
I know you are kinda joking about being schooled- but, if I could get a luthier in Florida with a big enough space to assist (I work out of my home- with a small garage set-up) I would really like to offer a workshop course- maybe a complicated inlay and design seminar, like some others do. It's not really competiton. I am pretty far south

I would need to charge a fee of course, but it would be a fully set up hands on workshop, with a finished project, etc..

Anyone interested? You could get a south Florida eco- tour as well! Maybe some diving and dive photography as well, if it's in the summer..

show me some of your inlays! You keep talking about how bad your inlays are. Well guess what?
When I started out my inlays didn't make me happy at all, so I worked harder and learned more. I am sure that is something all of us here do regarding guitar building-the desire to make one's instruments the best they can be-inlays included.
So- let the therapy begin...

This is actually for guitarist Don Alder. I have done a few for him as part of a deal we struck, and this is his. The fretboard will have a lot more to it. I need to finalize the art tomorrow.

This one took a while, it's more complex than it looks most likely. The average conmplex inlay for me now takes at least 20 hours, and is normally over 40 pieces typcally. I'm going to try to have the fretboard done in a week or two.

I really would like a class to start, the only limiting thing is where we could meet. My shop is too small. If someone wanted to host it, people could stay locally, and we could meet daily.

Hopefully the frog will be done in a day or so!
