Hello,
I'm planning to build a small guitar. Something like Taylor mini GS or the BT2 baby. Does anyone know of some plans for building something like that?

I always liked the dreadnought shape, but not its hug-a-refrigerator size, so for my first scratchbuild project I bought a set of Martin Herringbone plans from Stew-Mac and had my local friendly blueprint shop make me some 93% copies. A couple of years later Martin started peddling their Dreadnought Junior. I have a real good idea where the design came from. Bracing requires some thought about heights and widths.

And fun part was that the shrinkage turned up a 24" scale length, what you get when you lop off the first fret on a Martin long scale fretboard.

I'm finishing my fifth iteration using that body outline, this one a 13-fret long scale. Experimenting is a treat.

My vote would go to a Martin size 1 guitar. There are plans available drawn by Ted Davis from LMII or a little cheaper from the Guild of American Luthiers. There is some variation in the design over the years. Mr. Davis' plan shows 4 back braces where the guitar I have has 5. These are fine little guitars that are easy to play and sound great.

Do you know how many frets there are before the body on the 3/4 size guitar you mentioned?
