My father Bruce Dickey passed away a month ago. We found inside a heritage case a very nice auditorium sized guitar with red binding. I think he was part of a project where multiple luthiers donated and constructed a guitar for some charity. I’d like to return this neck, body and case to the rightful owner. If anyone can reach lance, he may know? Thanks for your help.

Warren, I’m very sorry to hear about your loss. I was just thinking of Bruce the other day and remember ing his contributions here. I remember him as very friendly and willing to help anyone. I don’t know anything about the case but maybe someone else will.

My deepest condolences. That will turn into a fine guitar with just a little work.

Hi Warren, very sorry to hear about your Dad I knew him from this forum and we both posted here at the same time for maybe ten years or so. RIP Bruce.

The guitar I believe was a second "OLF guitar" that was indeed a joint project that builders here could sign up to complete some aspect of and then send it on to the next builder. I forgot who this was intended to go to when completed or if that was even determined. Others here may remember.

The first "OLF guitar" was completed and went to Lance who I believe has it to this day. Lance is the founder and owner of this forum.

Again sorry to hear about your Dad Warren. I did not know him as well as some here who lived by Bruce but we all knew that Bruce was a very fine man and an excellent guitar maker.

Thanks Hesh. Perhaps I can search the forum and find the second olf build. Thanks for the kind condolences. He was a legend of a man. I’m lucky I had him for my dad.

Here are a couple more pics.

I'm so sorry to hear of your fathers passing.
We met at a OLF get together at Ron Wisdoms home in Beebe Arkansas, when I told you dad I was from Kansas he invited me to spend the night at his home so I didn't have to pay for a motel room. He had never met me before that day and I was floored by his generosity.
He wore his religion on his sleeve for all to see.
Have you considered keeping Dickey Guitars going?

So the mystery has been solved. My father was a founding member of OLF back in 2004 I believe. He and others were making this guitar as a thanks to Lance Kragenbrink for doing the web hosting and founding setup for OLF. Mom and I have boxed up and sent to Lance. Thanks again everyone for your help. God bless you all and happy Luthiering!
