Mike,
I bent the sides by hand and made a mock up of the block with the proper curve clamped to a table with the template for the sides outline. As with a mold, this setup holds the side at the proper configuration while it cools and dries. The toughest part is triple checking every step of the way to be sure you have it lined up with the heal contour properly. You have to have your neck width and heal worked out ahead of time, and match your block to the curve and then bend your side to fit the block.
That’s the way I did it anyway. I’m sure there are other ways
