Anyone else have problems sending PMs? I deleted the majority of stuff in my inbox and sent messages but new messages still get stuck in my outbox.

They will show in the outbox until the recipient opens it. Just an idiosyncratic thing in phpbb.

Is that what you’re seeing?

Could very well be Brad. I haven't sent many PMs for a long time. Thanks!

On the other end of this Darrel and Brad is I think that folks are not getting notified if they have a PM. I'm not anymore and this is recent and I don't remember turning anything off.

So I suspect they are waiting for the recipient to open them but the intended may not have any notification that they have a PM.

Does it not show up on the top left every time you visit the forum?

Yes it should, but it hardly jumps out at you, and I'm not so sure it always does - I had one PM sent to me which I didn't see for 3 weeks of visiting several times a day.
I may have missed it, but I was looking for a message actively for several days.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

What Colin said it doesn't jump out at me either. I preferred getting emails then I don't have to log in to see if I have a PM.

There use to be a little box that opened up saying you had a PM. That seemed to disappear about a year ago.

By the way Hesh, you have a message from me in your inbox waiting to be read… ;-)
