Excellent guitar Hesh, you've done yourself proud again mate.

I think a subtle burst would be cool, one would see the guitar from a distance as interesting and then, upon closer examination, would be presented with that beautiful flame I say GO FOR IT

Cheers

Kim

Great looking guitar! I agree with the masses--no burst required.

I do have a question...how much does it cost to outsource a finish? There have been a lot of pics of guitars being finished by outsourcing lately, I'm curious to know what the charges are to finish a guitar.

Thanks!

John

Hesh, as I study your guitar, I think a burst isn't enough. I think you should paint the whole thing black. And that's a steady, reasoned, critical opinion.

(Ok, now a burst won't hurt nearly as bad, will it? )

Steve

Hesh, if not too late, if a burst you really want, subtle cognac color remains my vote!

Hesh, that looks awesome. And I'm glad you've got the guts to do the burst, even if I wouldn't! Can't wait to see it.

I'd prefer to see it all painted black, than see it with a burst on the top. At least then we wouldn't be able to say "Great looking wood on the B&S shame it was ruined with that ugly burst".

The guitar looks awesome!! I personally wouldn't want to put a burst on it, but if it's what YOU want, then go for it. To look at you work I'd say there will probably come a time when you won't be able to what YOU want.

Ouch!....and from a friend! Thanks James for the support.

Hesh...if you want to burst it, well ok. But have you considered a much lighter color than the root-beer that Lance used? It's way too dark for that beautiful wood, and frankly I would think something in the red-orange/light brown family would be better suited to the rest of the guitar. I wish I could find a pic of a guitar that I saw that was done by Kim Walker...a very light burst, it was a much better choice for going with your guitar. Which I might add is stunning without a burst. BUT if you're gonna do it, I would go more with something complementary to the colors in the koa and snakewood.Don Williams38821.5086111111

Haha, sorry Don. I definitely think you're right about color though. I
think it will look good with the colors lance had, but a warmer, softer
burst would look better in my opinion.
