Ok Guys i'm only getting closer to bending some sides but it's looking promissing. since i can only work in that shop of mine so little time during week on evenings and on week ends when i'm not on duty, i managed to steal someone's kitchen table top and build me a mold, my wife wouldn't let go of ours! That carrot thread still haunts me to this day!

Yesterday was just great, i finished my mold and made a side template and some cauls for my spreaders, i'll have to finish them today and if i'm lucky, i should be able to bend some side as well.

Here are some pics, enjoy!

1-2-3 are showing the mold still square on all sides

4- my bandsaw has seen some action!

5-i trimmed all around the mold to make it lighter when i'll be sanding the rims

6-7, some finishing sanding all around

8-9 shellaced the mold and voila

10-11, i was curious to compare my previous molds with the latest and i realized that i seem to be building lighter, don't ask me why!

12-13, made the cauls for the spreaders with the scrap cuts from the mold, a bit of finishing touch has to be done on these

14-end are pics of the side template for my future dread, i used wax paper to transfer the side lines from the plan to the 1/2" plywood board

Off to make some more sawdust before the relatives arrive for Easter sunday! Serge Poirier38822.4081018519

Olt Timer status in less than 4 months....18.08 posts per day!

....now THAT's a lot of progress! It took me 2 years, and Bruce Dickey was on pace to do it in one year before he took a leave of absence.

Ok Serge, now get makin' sawdust!

Yeah, Don, But you had all that country singing to do at the same time!

Serge, now all you've got to do is fill those mould up!

Thanks for your encouragement folks, it's always heart warming to know you're always there for me and others!

Well today i couldn't play with my bandsaw, had to go do the groceries for Easter sunday , help my Dad with different things and went shopping for smaller spreaders, the ones i had were a tiny bit too big, maybe tonight i'll be able to sneak up in my shop a bit

Charlie, you got a reply!

Thanks again guys!

Good going Serge, my friend. I cheated on work-work at home and glued my back to the rim. No major disasters, at least. See you later. YF,Mike

Thanks Mike, it's good to hear you're back in the shop, working on your guitar! Please post pics of your current work or e-mail them to me and i'll post them here!

Happy Easter Mike!

Thanks Coe, well you're quite right on this one, i got one guitar completed, 3 molds and a 4th one given to me by Andy and about 4 bending forms since i have to adjust every jig to the plan that i'll be buiding with I'll only have to concentrate on guitars and a good go bar deck and a "free hand binding router jig".

Things should get more speed starting next week end, will have relatives over at my place tomorrow so, i'll be taking a short brake from eating sawdust!

Happy Easter too Coe!
