There was a little discussion about filters for ceiling mounted ambient air filtration boxes that would filter out 0.5 micron particles. I don't remember the brand of the box you have, but the internal filter I use on my Jet unit is from Wynn Environmental and the specs say it filters 79% of 0.5 micron particles. The web page has a list of units the filter fits.
