Are some CA glue bottles better than others? The 2 I have get goopy around the tips. I guess I just don't wipe them off; but they don't seem messy when I put the top on. Sometimes they fall over, maybe that's a problem?

The medium glue I have is thicker now. The cap is a real mess. It did come with a tip. I probably should have always used it?

The thin glue bootle seemed fine. I use the whips with it. Yesterday the whip wouldn't fit on. The cap was all gooped up; it never was before. I got too aggressive with an exacto blade, and it is toast now.

Is it just being careful to keep the jars upright, and wiping them off? Are some jars better? Does using the tips help?

Maybe some brands are better, or do I just have to be more careful?

Now if I can find some ear buds, where the clip in wires don't get loose. I love the sound quality, far better than anything else; but the wire clip is the weak link. I don't take the wires on and off.

I order from Starboard directly, you can order extra bottles, tips, whips. they're having an excellent black Friday sale at the moment. One thing I found is I always use a whip, the tip of the wick drys out and is easy to cut off or dispose of.

Thanks DAVID
I'll order some glue and a pack of bottles.

Alternatively, use pipettes exclusively. No glue on the threads.

The bottles from Star Bond get harder than concrete over time. I've not found any alternatives to use though. As Brad mentioned, Pipettes are the answer to siphoning out glue from the larger bottle and always ready for use. I have a small shallow tin can that I keep my CA bottles, accelerator and filled pipette in (bulb down, tip up). The tin keeps everything together and keeps the bottles from falling over. I place a small plastic mixing cup, inverted and over the tip of the pipette and that keeps it from drying out and it keeps accelerator fumes from entering the pipette.

No solution I'm aware of. I squeeze the bottle a few times to clear the hole, and wipe the tip before closing, but the coating of dry glue still accumulates over time, inside and out. Carve it off the outside with an x-acto, and drill your way back in when the hole gets plugged.

Lately I've been using tiny "single use" tubes, which are actually just as reusable as any bottle. I don't use CA very often, and when I do it's usually only a few drops, so the small quantity hasn't been a problem.

I like using it as a pore filler/strengthener. It is so fast.

I have the good CA which comes in nice bottles, and there are associated whips and tips available, but I also have the CA I use when product quality is not critical to the task. The latter is the stuff I get at Harbor Freight, and it comes in the little tubes Dennis references. Those and a bargain brand accelerator are great for quick and dirty blue tape "clamping" jobs, etc. I save the good CA for stuff that I care more about.

I also forgot to mention that I use nail polish accelerator for most tasks. Can be bought in bulk very cheaply. It doesn't stink as bad either

In the shop I use only GluBoost CA and accelerator (I use 3M products for other apps up at the house). The GluBoost bottles seem to last as good as any and the whip tips fit on them just fine. When the glue starts getting thick (if the bottle lasts that long} then I just replace it. I had an old bottle of StewMac CA get brittle then split and leak all over the place once so now I store all of my CA bottles in a 9x9 in glass baking dish (except the new unopened bottles which are in the fridge).
