Hey Crew,

My wife is a knitwear designer - I spent a bunch of time tagging along at her various shows and events which took place all over the US and a also in Europe. She referred to me as her Booth-bait…That was a while ago and feel I am no longer able to own the moniker… (In the immoral words of my friend Larry Squire, I just don’t look good naked anymore)!

Anyway, I am building four guitars for the La Conner Guitar Festival happening the middle of next month.
After studying the market last year there was a lot of interest in O/Parlor size instruments.

I decided we needed an 0.12.25 cutaway, Lefty!

Here’s the body leveled and sanded to 4000 grit ready for the buffer. It’s a AAA Pacific Rim Tonewoods Sitka top over Indian Rosewood.

Hope to see you at the Festival?

M

I’ve always appreciated looking at the instruments you post. Hope you enjoy your retirement.

That looks very smart. Getting the lines round a florentine right must be pretty tricky. I've been mulling a left classical just for the fun of it. There is presumably not much choice for left handed players.

Cheers Dave

Agreed, especially in a hand-build. The florentine wasn’t too bad. You have to be willing to start over if things ain’t right -

Best, M

I'm planning on heading to La Conner this year would love to meet you. I had a hard time prying my hands off of one of Rasks guitars, within my reach, but since I'm building I just bought some of Rob Goldbergs tops instead.

Take me with you!!

Seriously though, I have to say, you have always been a great inspiration for me. Your shop pics are what first caught my attention but I stayed for your amazing instruments!

You were also an inspiration for me to look more into CNC. I saw the clean lines and satisfying detail and knew I had to get there.

Thanks for everything you’ve shared and encouragement along the way.

Brad

Aww shucks!! I have also enjoyed following your journey. You are doing some pretty cool stuff. The presentation of your template sets is absolutely next level! Your guitars are sweet as well - I'd love to play one of them!

Cheers, M
