Just thought it would be interesting to hear what everyone has done today.
I sanded an end graft flush, cut the rabbet for binding and herringbone purfling, and installed both purfling and binding. I think I'll watch glue dry for a while.

my power was knocked out in a snowstorm 10 days ago, its really ticking me off, i have the top and back braced and the sides bent lined and radiused and i cant use the pillar drill to get my neck block drilled!!!

I bent 8 pc's of snakewood bindings and a set of American sycamore sides 12 fret 000. Shipped a few orders, stacked two big piles of zoot and cleaned the shop a bit.

Shop? I have not seen my shop in four days. Been dealing with my real job and entertaining visitors from China.

I did 3 Rosettes 1 Classical 2 steel String.
Bent my Classical Sides.
Made a Fleta Style Soundhole and Bridge Patch.
Glued the Bolt on Extension to a neck.
Joined a Top.
Braced a Back.
Oh and put the Center seam reinforcement on a Back.
Glued up 3 neck blanks
Slotted, Tapered and Bound 3 Fingerboards.
Then cleaned up all the mess I made

I put strings on a Guild 12 string that I reglued tthe bridge (so far so good ) setup a Harmony electric mandolin ,assembled a green Tele from WD parts (another example of why WD stands for Wrong Dimensions), now it is on to two Jacksons with Floyd Rose bridges kill me....

day job too, no time to get to the bathroom, off to change pants!

I spent the morning cutting veneer for archtop laminated plates. Then glued
up some curly maple laminated sides and pressed on the vacuum form for a
maker in France. Came in, cooked dinner for the family, get an hour of
power sleep and go in to the hospital to work tonight. 8pm to 8am. See you
in the A.M.

Finished John's sitting bull and glued up the pieces, cut and installed the OLF guitar's signature at the 12th fret. It's glued up, just needs to dry and be leveled.

I finished up a radius system and then got to work on some binding jigs. One of my customers is 83 years old and tells me he spends 10 hours a day every day in his shop building. Seems like he's living the dream...

Hesh, What is it, ten feet from the bed to the shop? I do hope you had the decency to at least get in there and take off some clamps or something before going to work!

Me, I had glued the top halves last night (Lutz from BobC) and checked it this morning. Just as I suspected: the glue dried. Then got dressed, off to work. sigh

This day-job stuff really wreaks havoc with my building schedule.

Fed the cats (yes, they've been exiled to my shop, and it makes it none too pleasant to work in there now!).

Seriously, don't you people have jobs?

Ate dinner, checked some email, that sort of thing. Of course, my shop and my room are one distinct entity.

I only cut a couple of necks out on a piece of mahogany and glued in an end graft in spalted maple....

Glued in Fretboard inlay, leveled and radiused the fretboard. Cut 2 more inlays for the heel cap. Not much really, but moving along at a nice slow pace! Oh yea, ate dinner and checked email

I glued a herringbone backstrip on one of my backs (Beeswing Bubinga). Then I came in after fighting with routing the slot for the backstrip with my Dremmel and posted a new post asking how other folks do theirs.

I came home from working a night shift (18:30 - 06:30)... made myself a fresh batch of hide glue, cleaned up my latest disaster, glued in a few braces for a top (go go-bar!), glued in the last of the kerfing I needed to complete numero deux, sanded the back with my nifty new sanding dishes from Shane, sanded the top with my nifty new sanding dishes from Shane,... contemplated the meaning of life as an amateur luthier and then I had to go to bed since I had to go to work again!!!

   This whole 'working for a living' thing is really cramping my style...

I'm an electrician, so when work is good I never get the time to build, but when work is bad I have plenty of shop time. Guitar building is moving along quickly.
