The defending champs Lightning stunk it up tonight against powerful Ottawa 4-1.

Sorry I was born in St. Louis and played hockey since before I could walk.
As a Blues fan, it is hard to root for the Wings. Finally after 25 STRAIGHT
years of making the playoffs, they fell apart this year

...the Leafs shall once again rise to glory....ah who am I kidding....

Buddy of mine from Detroit called me today offering his condolences about the Leafs not making the playoffs ...and offered me tickets to a Wings game...was I rude hanging up..(kidding) A good way to keep Wings fans in line is remind them of the Lions and the Tigers....he he he

Ya gotta love Detroit...been a contender or winner for quite a few years.

My team's out, time to build guitars.
I come to the computer from overtime Anahim vs Calgary, too boring low score game

(stepping up on his soapbox)
You guys want to see real hockey, watch college or the minors. Before the guys get all glammed out by making the big bucks. Where they still have to prove themselves in order to make it. When they make the bigs, they get sort of a "coasting" type attitude (and it's true in all sports which is why I dispise pro sports as a whole, give a guy $2 million a year and he goes on strike because his health benifits aren't good enough. Hey, give me $2 million a year and just see if I complain about it.)
Oh, and by the way, who was it that won the NCAA tourney in hockey, oh yes, now I remember, WISCONSIN!!
(stepping off his soapbox now)

Paul, i could not agree more with you, them plaguing agents are ruining our sport, i stopped watching full games on TV when the commentators started divulging how much money they were making a year, i thought it was a disgrace to see players being so lazy after a long tradition of players like Bob Gainey who'd play with fractured bones just to carry the torch of victory, it all stopped after the 24th Stanley cup was won in 92-93 season with Jacques Demers as a head coach, i miss the good old days when they were playing with pride for the team having the CH tatooed on their hearts.

For great hockey now-----> minor leagues yeah!
