Well, you can see that his smiley faces are genuine!!

And he plays g'itar too!

I was fortunate enough to actually meet this wonderfully kind man in person! And I will see he and Alain tomorrow for dinner (and hopefully a tromp through Alain's shop!)

Thanks Serge to you and Lain for the wonderful evening!

Shane

Thanks for the kind words Shane and Hesh!

Shane, i started writing a thread on this joyful meeting of ours but deleted it twice for a simple reason that Alain will know about tomorrow unless you've seen him today, so now, i have the opportunity to show my pics as well!

My bud Shane is really the warmest person there is and a true gentleman, the 2-3 hours we spent together have passed way too fast, you have to promise me to come back at my place anytime my friend!

Shane is also talented at guitar playing, i'm sure he knows a whole lot more than what he showed me!

Yep, as if we had known each other for the last 20 years! it really felt like that!

we had a lot of things to talk about and i had a lot of stuff to show Shane in such a little time but we managed to escape the Apartment kitchen to head down to the shop where we both were in a more natural environment for both of us! Shane gave me a lot of great tips and he even had time to tap tune my top and tune up my bandsaw!

Man it was fun and i wish the same happiness to all the OLF bros, it reminds me that me and Alain Desforges never took a pic of both of us together! You can bet it'll be taken care of tomorrow night when we all go out for supper!

Thanks for everything again Shane, you rock dude!

Serge

I had to wait for Alain to receive his gift also so i could not post a pic of the most wonderful gift a luthier can get, Shane brought each one of us a marvelous Red cedar top!

Here is mine! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Tonight, while me and Alain Desforges were waiting for Shane to arrive chez moi, we took a few shots and played quite a bit on Alain's guitar which is fabulous looking and has great sound!

Here's my bud playing his awesome geetar!

2 happy campers

We all gathered at my place at 6h30 pm and from there went to one of my favorites Restaurant where this happy bunch enjoyed real french fries!!! And a great dessert of course!

Shane, thank you so much for taking the time to stop and help me better understand who you are, this was a great experience through and through and true and i can't wait we meet again my friend!

Mario, yeah, should have thought of suggesting it to our guests but OTOH, they would've liked it too much and their wives would be missing them now!

Russell, this is Shane's co-worker from Shane's day job. Sorry Shane, i forgot your pal's name but he was also a very kind person to talk to.

Sorry I'm late! Yes I had the great pleasure of meeting Shane and Michael. I'll echo everything Serge said above... Shane is a class act all the way!   I couldn't believe those beautiful tops he gave us! Man those tops are absolutely gorgeous!!! So, once again, THANKS SHANE!!!

We had a great time indeed and we talked a lot about guitars, of course (sorry Mike!) The conversation, the food and the company were all fantastic... The evening was over way too soon, in my opinion...

I'm really looking forward to November, maybe next time we'll really get into trouble!!!

Now it seems the Canadian contingency has to make a little pit-stop in Buffallo.... Cool!

   Cheers mates!
