I'm just making a new set of radius dishes so that I can have two of each; one for gluing, one for sanding. I need to order some new sanding discs for them, in the past I've used 120 grit, but at the moment only 100 and 150 grits are easily available, so which should I get?

I'd go 100 Grit Colin, I use 80 on Mine.

I use 80, but I'm a rank amateur, so....

I actually use 60. I get the good ones from Mc Master and Carr

I carry them in 80 and 100 grit in PSA ( pressure sensitive adhisive )

Slightly OT, but related.

Is it advisable, or not, to glue braces on a radius form that has sanding disks attached. I've read that some just cover the disk with paper.

I have the radius forms, but have no sanding disks yet, nor have I ever used them.

I've glued braces on in sandpaper'd dishes layered with newspaper, on Mario's reccomendation. Never had any problems.

I put 2 sheets of newspaper on top of my 60 grit sandpapered disk, and never had ANY problems. I sell radius dishes with 60 grit. We used to use 80 grit, but people complained that they would wear out faster than 50 or 60 grit, so we started carrying 60 grit. Go with the 100 Colin since that is the only choice you have. I have a couple of Tracy's radius dishes and they are really nice. I got them with the 60 grit. When bracing on the GoBar deck I place two sheets of wax paper down over the sand paper side by side in the dish with a little overlap. Works great, newspaper would work well also. The 60 grit is really nice for sanding braces as well, I don't have the jig yet so I still use my dish and take my carved flat braces and sand several times back and for in the dish, works great as well.
