hi guys,

just thought i would share a picture of a plaque i made for a guy who was retiring to spain to play golf, his friends spoke to me yesterday afternoon about making something, and i had this done today! (i love it when you get really enthused by a project!)

background was a cutoff from a curly red maple board, the golfer is some redwood burl, golf ball is MOP, and the hole is a little piece of brazilian.

Thanks Paddy, how thick is your material just before inlaying it? That redwood burl is just awesome!

the burl was about .080 thick,

i cut the pocket at .120 and sanded flush with the burl

That burl is perfect. Very nice work and you did that today? Is the guy a lefty? must be nice to retire just to play golf...think i only have 25 years left!
