What! No internet access! I have to rethink this trip

Seriously, I sure would like to go. But what would really be nice is if we could have our meeting near your wood stash. We could party and oggle wood.

Anyway, there is a chance I can make this gathering. I sure would like to meet all you guys.

John

Well, Carla (my wife) and I have discussed the matter, and assuming nothing dramatic interferes in the interim, we're in. It would be great to meet all those who show up, and she and I could use the time away (and I can think of A LOT worse places to be with the wife on a romantic getaway.) Besides, never seen the Falls.

Buffalo/Fort Erie, here we come.

Is that anywhere near Yellowstone NP? That's where I'll be. Maybe I can make the next one.

On the other hand, I WILL be at Yellowstone. The one US destination that single-handedly disproves all this global warming garbage.

I'm sooo torn...

I'm even learning to like bursts on Koa git-fiddles!

I doubt I can make it, but who knows for sure...

Hesh/Lacey, JJ, Evan, John -- I hope you folks can make it.

An additional thought for those making a longer treck to Fort Erie is that in addition to golf, casinos, the falls...Niagara-on-the-Lake is also nearby. It's a terrific town that features a number of wineries, The Shaw Festival (George Bernard Shaw plays amongst others). For the ladies...the shopping is great and unique. There is a fair bit to see in the area!

I am checking with the boss to see if that will work for us. It certainly sounds great. Our kids are in a lot of camps and activities this summer and I need to find out what our logistics are.... but I will do everything I can to make it...

... plus my wife is from Rochester originally.

Decisions, decisions.

Enough really nice zoot for 3 or 4 guitars with gold tuners, or a really long trip to meet a bunch of who knows what. Are ya'll worth it?

Does one need a passport/visa to enter Canada or the US from Canada? Can I bring my banjo?

Ron

Ron, i'm not sure about the passport or visa for you, i think it's more important for us to carry one if we go the the USA but not as much when you folks travel to here, maybe Bob would answer you better though.

Hi Charlie
No I'm not Canadian but we have a summer cottage in Fort Erie Canada. I've been going to Canada since I was a youngster. Around the Buffalo area it was the thing to do. Hope this clears things up for you.

Old Man:
You don't need a passport unless you are not a US Citizen. You do however need a picture ID like a drivers License. You are allowed 2 cartons of cigarettes per person, 2 cases of beer or 2 bottles odf alchohol. There is a Duty Free Store right after the Toll Booths on the US side and one on the Canadian side for the trip home. Good prices and NO TAXES.

Bob...Thanks for the generous offer to host this meeting. Just the thought of meeting many of the OLF characters in one place makes the 400+ mile drive worth it for me. Let's see...if we all pick up a case and a bottle at the duty-free border shop, we'll be sure to have enough adult beverages for the party

I realize that this is primarily a social gathering but I'd also like to suggest that we bring items like tools, jigs, wood, etc. that we might want to sell or swap. I would also hope that you will be able to showcase some of your Zoot and have it up for sale as well.

Just a thought. I don't know how others might feel, but that's why it's a forum.

BTW...I can arrive a day in advance to help with any necessities. Just let me know.

Thanks again, Bob...you're the best!!!

Yes bring guitars and don't forget swim trunks and towels.
Personal belongings are OK to bring across the border.
