Most excellent Serge!!!!

I just closed a box myself on 1 of 4 going right now, binding it up this week and will use my first ever purchased digital camera to bring it to you all once completed. If I can figure out how it operates, still in the box.

Thanks again everybody!!!!!

Thanks Mike, that is great news buddy! i just can't wait to finally see your work my friend! You'll find that once you start making pics with it that you just can't stop sometimes, ask me how i know this! I must have a compulsive disorder!

Thanks Billy Dude! Yup, my pinkie tells me that there's a bunch o great fellows that are prayin' overnight so i can build a great guitar for my Mom

Thanks Russ, didn't try to fix it yet, i probably will tonight after work with the great advices that i received from Carlton and Evan, it should be done ok, the positive side of that is that i will learn how to repair my own guitars!

Thanks Doc Mattia, so, did you resaw everything wood that went by under your nose with that big bad beautiful beast of yours?!

Thanks Rich, you are so right my friend, though it is my no 2, it's my first one with real wood and it is scary sometimes but the rewards are much greater when you accomplish some of the big steps, it really felt great to see my box looking like those on some websites i've lurked on for months! It's really a very cool feeling!

Serge: bandsaw only gets picked up in a month, at the earliest. I'm currently snooping around for a rotary phase converter, and calling various power companies to get quotes for simply getting 'proper' 3-phase power...the waitin' is killin' me!

Serge- that is such encouraging progress. You have inspired me to really get going on mine.Keep up that steady effort, my friend.Don't "freeze" on the binding that comes next. We all kind of fear it, but I'm sure you will do fine. MT

Sorry Mattia , my memory is playing dirty tricks on me buddy, maybe getting old here or just havin' too much on my mind these days!

Thanks Mike, yeah, you're right i know i shouldn't fear it but frankly, i do! i'll be trying to build Arnt's awesome jig, it should be the best bet to help me overcome my fear and do a good job at it! Hey Mike, talking of motivation, send me pics of your progress to my e-mail address when you have a chance and i'll post them here !

That would be really cool Anthony and Alain! Ironicly, my Mom and Dad were in the shop 15 minutes ago and i had a hard time not whispering to my Dad's ear that this guitar was for her, especially after Pops expressed he hoped he'd be able to play it before they leave for Florida next fall!

Thanks guys!

Serge

Serge--hearty congrats!
Here's a vote to continue the purpleheart theme.
Bindings, center neck lamination, tail wedge.
That would tie in nicely with the rosette, and the color would work fine with the color of your rosewood---that is, if my monitor is not playing tricks on me!

Steve

Thanks Steve, yeah, the purple heart though not as popular as other woods is growing on me, i'll be trying it all out, the more i look at that rosette, the more it all makes sense to go all the way with it.

Thanks

Serge
