Taste of Texas, eh? Not very original. There's an excellent steak house here in Houston by that very name. Been around for twenty years or better. Wonder where those folks in LA got that name from?
The "Burrito Hut" I think it's called, over in East Whittier. I think it's on Mills Rd. Give it a try if you're ever out that way. Back in the early-to-mid 90s it was da place for burritos in that part of town. Our favorite sit-down places were La Scari's (great Italian) and Seafare Inn (both in Whittier, both on Whittier Blvd).
SGV -- I lived in Alhambra and Rosemead for a few years. Most of the places the wife and I went to in the SGV were Chinese. She's Chinese, so I let her pick 'em. There was a good Korean BBQ buffet at the corner of Colima and Fullerton Rd. (you helped yourselves to the meats and grilled them at the table). Wonder if it's still there.
Is Norm's still around? A coffee shop right out of the fifties, but the food was always good.
Best,
Michael
