I got my shipment of Western Red Cedar from Jay last Saturday, I promptly took it to the shop and ran a set through the thickness sander. Beautiful color, very consistent. But what jumped out was the grain count, the widest was 19 per inch, out at the edges, in the center seam area, forget it, I could not count the lines, honestly, there must be 30 or 40 lines per inch.

Great stuff, I'm confidant everyone will be 100% please with what they get, and the price, wow what a deal ..
Thanks again Jay --

PLUS Jay also donated some sweet flamed maple drop tops for you electric builders -- watch the auctions in the coming weeks --

Lance

It's good to have your approval Lance,
My 2nd acoustic has a tight grained Cedar top and it is still one of my favorite to play.
I'm looking forward to working this wood!

John - Jay is Jason Voth --

He sold some real nice cedar tops for 15.00 each - I believe he sold a little over 200 in about 2 hrs here last friday.

I'm Jay ;) Lance I appreciate the review. Guys keep in mind at this price there is some variation.. At 15 dollars it's all a good deal though. I didn't cream the pile for lances wood.. it was a random 10 of the top of a random pile.. so rest easy. And as always if there is any problem I have a good replacement/refund policy as Bruce will probably verify ;)

OK the money goes to

jasonvoth (at) hotmail . com

I would also appreciate an email titled OLF CEDAR with your full name, OLF name, order numer and address just to make sure there are no mix ups ;)

$15 USD a set and I will front the shipping price and invoice exact shipping prices after the wood has been shipped to you ( I expect to be paid promptly )

I'll get the final tally..

Jeff Doty 10
Josh H 5
Brock Poling 10
John Elshaw 5
John How 10
JJ 5
crazymanmichael 10
Paul Woolson 10
Matt Gage 5
Don Williams 10
Tom D 10
Dave Rector 5
John Kinnaird 10
Bruce Dickey 10
Bruce H 5
Hank Mauel 10
Gary Cote 10
Mattia Valente 10
Roy O 5
Tom Harbin 10
Wade S 5
Shawn 5
rlabbe 20
EBarajas 5
Tracy 5
Sylvan 10
Don A 5
Brendan Kelley 5
Chas Freeborn 10
Stan Thomison 5
Paul B 4
Ron Priest 3
Eric Jones 2

249! 59 over my required number ;) I think that set a pretty good record considering it took a whopping 36 hours to get those numbers.

Sorry Bruce I just got your message. I'll get your wood out asap!.

Allow about ten days for most of the U. S. shipping. Thanks Jason, good deal bud, we all appreciate it. A reminder to anyone getting close to the $250 number, you'll invoke brokerage custom charges.

Jay, be sure and ship mine Canada Post, never had a Customs Charge sent that way. UPS likes to charge sometimes just for looking at the package pass the agent's desk, even if it is under the $250.

You have money, Jay.

Lance - it struck me that your comments were all about the aesthetics. I care if the stuff is floppy or stiff, not how it looks.

Obviously I trust Jay, since he already has my money, but let's keep our eye on what's important.
