Very nice, Russ. I like the way you tied the angle brace into the sides. I'll bet it's gonna sound great!

I've built three classicals using bolt-on necks. Honestly, I don't care for it. Two of the guitars had set angles that were a bit too much, even after I thought I had nailed the angles, and I had to install overly tall bridge saddles. Very frustrating. The one classical whose set angle came out right has a raised fingerboard extension (a la Humphries Millenium, Greg Byers, and others), which I think helped a lot.

I'd be interested -- very interested -- in reading about the process you go through to get the set angle right.

Ironically enough, with the sole steel string acoustic I built, I nailed the set angle. Guess I got lucky.

Best,

Michael

Hi Russell,

Beautiful job so far! Forgive my naivete, but what kind of finish is typically applied to a classical?

Again, wonderful technique and vision.

Pete

Pete

French Polish is the traditional high end finish for classicals, and thats what I will do with this one.
