Well, it's no time to let our guad down...
...he's up by 170 votes, but history shows that the folks voting for the Maine Coon from Japan make very big runs at the lead. I expect this to be a nail biter. Don't forget to vote as much as you can this weekend!
Hint: Search for the file name "ccchallenge" on your hard drive, which is a cookie given out by the vote tallying computer. Delete the cookie and you may be able to vote again.
I've had good luck switching from IE to Firefox and getting two votes in at the same time.

Thanks folks!

I just discovered that on the computers in my lab, I was able to vote again on the few I retried. We use software that makes anything written on the c drive disappear on reboot. Soooo, it's not logging IP addresses, but, as Don said, is using cookies to keep track of which machines have voted. I'll see what I can do Monday, but I don't know if I can ask my student to repeat her work from last week.

This is nuts! Look at how few votes the 3rd and 4th place cats have compared to the two front runners.

I was able to vote twice, but it won't let me do it again, even tho I cleared my cookies. (dial up). Then again, twice is a lot more than I ever thought I'd vote for a cat without ears.

It logs IP and a Cookie, you have to delete the cookie and then reconnect if you have a variable IP Address.

Looks like the Japanese Coon folks manages to log a solid overnight effort of at least 250 votes...we're back to being down by 120 votes or so. They must be cheating!

Remember Jimmy in your weekend trips to the computer!

Hey Don, I just noticed on their opening page that it says the cats with the highest votes will have another final vote-off. Does that mean we'll have to go through all this again?

Russell, I cleared cookies and rebooted and it still won't let me vote again.

We should demand a recount for sure and maybe see if congress can get involved.

The other night I was keeping tabs on the votes and I noticed that everytime I would clean the cookies, disconnect, re-connect and try to vote again, the other cat would have one vote more every minute or two...

Is it possible to invent a type of program that just cleans cookies, changes IP adresses or whatever and then just votes again? It all seemed very fishy to me!

Hesh, I love that ballistic kitty pic!!!

Well, SOMEBODY was up all night voting...cause Jimmy caught up and has grabbed the lead by 27 votes!
I don't expect the competition will sit on their hands today, but this is encouraging. Musta have been the influence of the OLF folks!

I guess when both sides are cheating it almost seems fair again!

Guess the Democratic system does work after all!

Here's the deal for you folks with dsl.

1. Delete the ccchallenge cookie.
2. restart your computer.
3. while restarting, unplug the phone line from the back of your router, and then plug it back in a few seconds later as the computer is almost booted up. This forces it to get a new ip from the host.
4. VERY IMPORTANT. Go to the Mozilla website and download the web browzer called Firefox. In the utilities/options setup, you can disable cookies, so it won't receive any through Firefox. If you can't figure it out, call me here at home tonight, and I'll walk you through the process.
5. Open your Firefox browser, and browse to the vote page. Do Not Vote yet.
Next, open Internet Explorer an d also go to the vote page. Have the two votes sitting side by side and set the vote button to select Jimmy. Hit the select button on the bottom on the Firefox browser first, and then in the internet explorer browser. The IE will creat a new cookie, the Firefox will not.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 as many times as you can. It works EVERY TIME.

Go Jimmy!Don Williams38872.7997106481

No, I have an aversion to small spaces with iron bars.

The push is officially on! Vote for Jimmy!

Monday is "Official Vote For Jimmy Day" at all offices, homes, and places of employment.

Jimmy's human Bruce says "thanks!" to everyone for getting Jimmy this far. He's grateful for all you help.

Don
