I *might* be taking a day trip to the neatest wood source in the US of A later this week or next week.

If you are interested in some adirondack for tops and/or some Honduras Rosewood for sides and backs, (or some maple for mandolins), and will be at Steve Kaufman's Acoustic Camp during week 2, send me an email. I can get the wood for you and deliver it to kamp, saving you shipping costs.

OK, I'll tell you where it is, before one of you inquiring minds asks. It's right here in the great state of Missouri. A little less than four hours from my home. I love to go there and stand among the stacks of Adirondack Spruce that are labeled "Bill", Dana", CF, etc. I got a few top sets of adirondack spruce from the "etc" stack the last time I was there, and will eventually work up the nerve to build a guitar using them.

It's Old Standard Wood near Fulton, MO - here's a link to their web site - http://adirondackspruce.com - If you see something that you trust me to pick and deliver to you at week 2 of kamp, just let me know - I'll do it, and if you don't want it after you see it, I'll just have to find someone who does.

I was going to go today, but he is on a wood buying trip and won't be back until later this week or next week.

If he doesn't get back in time, then I won't be going before kamp.

Harry

John Griffin is a great guy. Recommended, and I also recommend Adirondack Red Spruce. Wow.

I just order a couple tops and bracewood from Old Standard/John, a few weeks ago. Fantastic service, and product. John took the time to educate me on Adirondack spruce, and was extremely helpful in guiding me on choices of grades. I need to save money, or I would order again very soon. Highly recommended.

Jeff

It looks like I won't make it to Fulton before kamp; but I am for sure going up there sometime this summer. I want to build a mondolin - am I crazy, or what?
