I've read that the plans for the Weissenborn guitar from Stewart McDonald has a mistake in the fret diagram. I just got my plans and have poured over them and can't find the flaw. Not having the experience that everybody else has, it's hidden from me. Can someone who has the plans tell me where it is??? Are the MIMF plans better?
Thanks
Dave

Hey Dave, Just give Stew-Mac a call and ask them, They will be happy to help I'm sure.

When the plans are printed the fret layout can be a little off by a mm or so. You would want to measure the actual fret layout on your board or use a fret scale rule or template to be sure the frets are accurate. This may or may not be the mistake you are referring to.

I don't have the plans, so I am only guessing.

The fret positions on the plans are pretty significantly off. A pre-slotted 25" scale or scale rule next to the diagram of the fret board shows this. Just don't measure your fret positions off the diagram and the plans are otherwise fine, apart from the way they show the headstock join, but that too is easy to figure out.

Yet to buy the MIMF plans so I couldn't comment on their quality.
