Boy!, I don't know what got in to me Saturday but I got started on my next commission bright and early. Started out by first giving the shop a reasonable cleaning, then making the bridge and buffing it out, then slotted the fretboard,Radiusd the fretboard, joined the back, joined the top. I had already buit the neck and tail blocks so they don't count. Then built and profiled the rim, installed the lining, sanded the dome into the rim and lining, routed and installed the back strip and its purfling. Looked up and it was 2:30pm. not bad there must have been luthier knomes in the shop with me.

For me, that would be a good week's worth of work

Gonna be a great looking guitar, too.

What I did not exactly say is that when I got up early I mean early. I went out to the shop at 3:30 am. The new neiobors have a new Chow pup and its run is right behind my bedroom.

Good day's work! I had one like that once. Pretty much did what you did with the exception of the fretboard. Went back the next day and realized that the comission that I was building it for was for a non cutawy and I bent it as a cutaway. Siiiiiiiigh. It still sits on my shelf.

Michael -- that Narra looks awesome.

Now I understand how some builders can turn out a guitar per week. That is phenomenal speed.

Michael, congrats! Man, that's like an instant, "just add water" guitar! You should buy a chow pup for yourself and then you'd always be getting up early!!

Paul, send that cutaway to me and I'll save you all that work!

Man, that is gorgeous stuff! Great job Michael! I wish I could get that much done at one time! But 3:30am, I'm just rolling over getting comfortable

I glued the reinforcing plate to the inside of my tailblock today! That's all the lutherie I accomplished. Did work in the garden, though, and got my yard mowed and trimmed with the weed eater. The humidity here is around 70% now, so I have to pick and choose. I'm working on a solution though.

Besides the rosette on this one is a carrier in its self. 48 purfling miters on just the rosette . So I knocked out the easy stuff first, now I can settle in for retirment on the rosette MichaelP38887.7034953704

Yep Carlton, it is inches from being ready to go out the door. I thinned the bass braces just a hair and it opend up nice. It seems to gain some volume day by day. I'm doing some polish work on it and waiting on a shipment of tuner screws. I seem to have miss placed 2 This weekend I will do an extensive photo shoot of it. I think I will do that combo again but in a full thickness SJ.MichaelP38888.3744097222
