Years ago I made a rose inlay keychain handel for lack of better term for my wife. Well she lost it about 3 weeks ago and has not told me. Our oldest daughter called me weekend before last and spilled the beans so that I could suprise her with a replacement for our aniversary next week. I got it inlaid last night.

I think it is kinda perty Hope she does

I knew I did not have time to cut the pearl so I orded one of Andy DePaule's precut patternes.

That's a real nice "ironing board" Michael.

Really kinda of strange the pearl looks the right colors but the wood is very dark. In truth the wood is a med dark coffee colored piece of EIRW. looks like Ebony in this picture. I took it here in my office with no flash and apature settings. Must have somthing to do with the lighting.

That's the fanciest ironing board I've ever seen....

your wife is very lucky to have such a thoughtful husband. And by the way it is a beautiful key chain handle.   Can i ask, how long did it take to make..

Mike[/QUOTE]

Since I bought it pre cut from Andy It took about an hour to glue it down and scribe the pattern into the wood and remove it, half hour to rout the channel, half hour to inlay the pieces and dust fill and sand level. So two hours to get to the point you see here. the first coat of lacqure went on last night.MichaelP38890.3716203704
