For your info, here is the update I posted in the oringinal:

I heard back from the plastics shop. Here are the details:

Straightedge: 2.5" wide x 34" long , centerline scribed for 22 inches at one end. It will be a clear centerline (not a red line as originally thought). The centerline is only 22 inches long due to the restriction of their machine (and cost). I asked for precision +-.005. Made of clear lexan.

2 Slider blocks: made of opaque polycabonate (for strength). They are 3.25 wide x 1.5 long x 1 inch deep. They will be have a side taper of 1/16" to grab the side of the neck. The openning on the first block 2.00 => 2.064. The second block openning is 2.25 => 2.89. This leaves room to glue on 1/8 leather or cork on each side of the block to prevent marring the side of the neck.

Because of the the logistics of it all, I am changing the deliverable. It is for the straightedge AND the 2 slider blocks. The cost is $52 + $7 shipping = $59 total. I know this maybe more than people had originally expected but I hope you understand. I will send out an email to each person with a paypal request. The turn around from the shop is 3 weeks. When I get them, I will ship them to everyone.

I was just at the plastics place. They are almost done with the jigs. I will get them by Friday (March 18) and ship them out.

They are made of Lexan and will not break. They claim you can drop them, hit it with a hammer, etc. and it will not break. Lexan can be permenantly bent, but it takes a lot of force. It does scratch easily, like all plastics, but a little micromesh or Novus plastic polish and you are on your way.

By the way, I mailed out the centerline finders to everyone that sent me a paypal payment. Expect them in a couple of days.

I am interested on how useful you find them. I got them yesterday and have already used one. I'm glad everyone made it possible to have them made. It is incredibly easy to use.

I am glad everyone is enjoying them. I used mine this weekend too.

The couple of extras that were left are gone. Unfortunately, I will not be having any additional ones made. The overhead for setup at the machine shop is ~$150. To make them cost effective, they need to be made in numbers >25.
