Hey Everyone,

I developed this crest because..... it is easy! And, I can reproduce it fairly easy and consistantly. But, I got to wondering if I am just copying something I have seen before, and don't remember. Does this look familiar to anyone? Ignore the left side, it will be a book match of the right side when I fix it.

Also, how do you think it looks? Too boring?

Jeff

Jeff, not what you might want to hear, but: I like the left side better.

Right side for me.....the top of the middle crest on left hand side bothers
me for some reason.

Personal choice of course. Its your guitar Jeff so its your choice.

I think you guys are seeing shadows of the peaks and as I see it both sides are the same. Jeff usually simple is best, why overcomplicate something, your crest looks fine to me and almost every builder in every aspect is "ripping off" a previous one in some respect, so, if you like it use it.

Colin

Right side, and don't worry...like Colin and Solomon said, "There's nothing new under the sun"...all of us build in Hauser, Torres, Martin, Taylor...etc...shapes and styles!

You came up with it on your own. If it is close to someone elses---Who cares? There are only a few inches of wood to work with. Most of mine are either close to Martin of Yari. We copy everything else on the guitar.

I like it a lot. I'll wager someone has one like it

but I wouldn't worry too much until they contact you with

a lawsuit. (just kidding). Looks good

Looks good to me, Jeff. I'm a big fan of the KISS principle. My headstock crest is also pretty simple to make, which is a big reason why developed it.

Best,

Michael
