I'll start with these binding cutters. One set from StewMac, one from LMI. Note the bearings are not interchangable between the sets. I've gone to a different system. I'm not sure exactly how many guitars I've done with each, but it is no more than 3 or 4 for each set.

This is the LMI classic tuner drill jig. It requires a 13/32 drill bit (not included), and provides the proper spacing for classical tuners. $20 (SOLD)



Brazilian bridge blanks, sized for steel string. Bought these 2+ years ago from Allied, but they are just a tad short for classical, plus I waste almost half the wood. These are gorgeous, with plenty of black lines.

Here is a bridge made from this wood that has been incompletely french polished. It'll get prettier.




Okay, this is a Mad Rose set suitable for a parlor or classical. There's not a lot of room to work with, though. Each piece is around 3 3/4 across, but the edges are not straight, and they have not been jointed yet. I would guess tight but doable for a Hauser guitar, and room to spare for a parlor. Length is 30 3/4. I really like this set, so no bargain here. $200.

(Bought this set from John Mayes a few years ago, so you know it's been stored in humidity controlled conditions for a number of years)



Here's a set of Ambroisa Maple which I bought from BobC. I realized that as a classical builder, this is just probably not going sell easily in that market. Included is a complete set of bloodwood binding with white/black purfling, black/bloodwood/black purfling, and a bloodwood centerstrip bound with white/black purfling. back 8 1/2 x 22, sides 5+ x 32. $50 for all. Koa. Why am I selling this? I don't know. It's gorgeous. Not terribly flamey, but the colors will make you suck in your breath when you see it in person.

1 set of Sycamore. Sized for classical. Had trouble photographing this one, so I added a closeup. The full shot indicates the color better than the closeup, however. $50

Imbuia. From our own BobC. Hope I'm not annoying him by selling wood I got from him, but I'm just trying to clear out stuff I'm unlikely to make into a classical. I'll just spend my proceed with him eventually anyway :)

This is a blistered set. It won't hurt my feelings if this set doesn't sell; it's nice. Both sides have a tight knot hole which will have to be filled. These have a wash coat of shellac on them - unfinished color is the same as the set above. Back is 9 x 23 (measured at wide part of lower bout, wood is over 10" at the widest), sides are 5 1/2 x 32 1/2 $80 [SOLD]



5 sets Carpathian Spruce. More wood from BobC. He's going to kill me. However, I built a classical from this wood, and don't feel it's suited for my method of building. Great for SS, of course. I don't know how to grade it except to say 1 level below Masters. Excuse the photo, I left the wood wrapped in it's plastic. $50 per.

Oh, I also have a Ribbeke style binding cutting fixture that I got from John at Blues Creek a few years ago. I've moved to a system where you move the router, so this could be for sale. Make an offer. I want to keep the carriage that holds the guitar, and the router needs to be replaced because the bearings are bad ($20 at harbor freight), so it'll go for pretty cheap.

Roger...nice Ambrosia Maple...I have a few sets in my stash so I dont need another but just wanted to comment that while it would be tough to sell for a classical, because it is light colored it may be just right for a flamenco. I build about 3 flamenco for every 7 classical and flamenco players are both more tolerant of things outside of the norm but also can be a little more flamboyant (think of the flamenco "rock star" combo of Tomatito and Camaron).

Lately I have had success selling flamenco's that were Myrtle with a Port Orford Cedar (Lawson Cypress) top and have built a number of flamed maple so a flamenco doesnt have to be cypress to be a blanca.

I will keep an eye out for other items and to hear from you.

What are the sizes of the lacewood sets?

What would the shipping be for the ambrosia set with extras to 15147?

af_one, the USPS calculator says 5.60 for priority mail. Note I just guessed on the weight of the packing material. An extra pound would take it up to 6.15.

Oh, to roughly calculate the postage. I'm shipping from zipcode 22307. The lacewood, a heavy set, is 3lbs 7oz. Things like koa will be lighter. Add in a pound or two for packing. The USPS website has a calculator.

I'll happily calculate shipping for anyone, and give you the weights on anything you want, but until I get things packed up it's as much a guess for me as for you.
