This was more an experiment with lighting than anything else. The guitar is about to be shipped out, and we wanted to grab some shots while it is still here.
Again, the specs are:
Stripey Engelmann (that's a sub-species ) top from Larry Stamm
Ambrosia maple back / sides from BobC
Bloodwood bindings and purflings (on back and sides)
Maple / Bloodwood neck
Ebony F/B, bridge and headplate
Spalted Boxelder rosette, heelcap and tail wedge.











Oh yes, the logo is standard MOP, one piece.

Wow! Fantastic looking instrument. Another stunner, but then again, coming from you Steve, I expected no less...

The headstock inlay is really really cool... As is the rosette and end-graft... That zoot is amazing as well.

I wish you guys would stop raising that bar already!!!

I've built with the Ambrosia before, it's nice stuff. And don't you love Larry's tops? He always gets striped stuff, I have some cedar from his that has a lot of color too.

Mark, what did you build with your Ambrosia? And what did you think of the sound? My set was as soft as Poplar, and I feared it would sound like Poplar.
I was pleasantly surprised.
I wish I had brought it to the acoustic open mike. I dunno what I was thinking that evening. (Other than it was late, and how much I wanted to go to sleep!)

Absolutely beautiful in all aspects. I love the zoot choices. They just all work and flow together. Fantastic work on the inlay as well. All one piece? I would have gone cross eyed! Great saw work on that one!!

The ONLY problem I see is you have the wrong address on that order form. Let me find my white out and change that for you to Ann Arbor, MICHIGAN!

Steve, I built an electric guitar with it! I used it for the 1/4" thick top, and put a sunburst on it. It worked great and was real pretty.

Yeah, that open mic is a very fond memory, it sure was fun and I was really glad that you and your friends were there. I hope we can do that every meeting.

Fellows, let me tell you, the pics are nice, but it is even nicer up close and in person. In my visit to Steve's he played it and the sound is all there. Steve is a good picker and man did this baby sing. The inlay work is really nice and finish superb. I have looked at and played alot of guitars in my life and honestly this is one of my all time favorites.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... I did have the great pleasure of hearing this guitar at the GAL convention, and, zootilicious as it may be, if I were blind I would still think this is one of the most fantastic guitars I've ever come across.
