While on vacation this week Sylvan welcomed me to his shop for a tour. I found his building techniques and philsophy to be pragmadic and enlightening. And.... I got to play some wonderful instruments! What a kick. If anyone wants a worldclass and beautiful sounding instrument, you have to check out these. It took a couple of days for all the experiences to sink in and now I'm making plans to attend his two week course next year. Thank you Sylvan!

...and he's a nice guy to top it off! I had the pleasure of finally meeting Sylvan at the ASIA Symposium last year. He's a very good man...I'm sure that was an experience you won't soon forget.

I attended his Jig making class last year and learned a whole lot of luthiery stuff too. Sylvan is a great guy...can't say enough good things about him ( and his very sweet wife - Sally). Fun guy too. I highly recommend any class he offers!

Ahem, I assume there's a "t" missing in that sentence.

Yup, and I'm sure Sylvan was a pleasure to those around him. I'd like to meet him someday.
