The trucker spotted it right at my side door. Now all I needed where some bodies. I got my brother-in-law and a cousin of mine to come over to help. We removed it from the wooden pallet and strpped it to a 2 wheel cart. Thats when the fun started. Up two steps into the side hall. Then off the cart to turn it around in ths small hallway and get the cart on the backside so we could wheel it down the basement steps. This saw weighs almost 500lbs. Mind you I'm 63 my cousin is 69 and my brother-in-law is 70. I said "Wow this crew looks like we escaped from the old folks home." Well we did it me at the top and the other two easing it down one step at a time. My right shoulder is killing me from all the weight hitting it everytime the saw bounced down another step. Just too heavy too ease it down. dang I should have built that shop in the yard like I wanted to 25 years ago. Now I have the 220 line to run and revamp my piping for the dust collection. I had to take a break. All worn out. Oh the saw looks beautiful but I havn't plugged it in yet.

Having seen that side door and the steps you're referring to, I'm amazed that you geezers negotiated it to it final resting place! Having said that, I've never seen anyone your age have such a young and playful outlook on life. How much beer did it take to pay off the help?...and ease that shoulder pain!

What a great new toy! I can't imagine the quality of your cuts being any better than I've seen from your stuff but I'm sure looking forward to the next batch...(did I really say that!)

I hope you're up and running soon...perhaps the improved efficiency will give you more time to get back in the guitar-building game.

Take care of the shoulder...we don't need any more one-armed luthiers!

Congrats Bob, you'll love your new saw when you get it humming like a Singer sewing machine...

I remember when mine arrived. My son popped off the crate. Then we took off the cast iron table, motor, and upper and lower wheels. Two guys handled it no problem....

Of course it took three more trips for the other parts. I hope you like yours, I sure enjoy mine. That one should have their all new ceramic guide system and the Baldor U.S. made motor. (Ft. Smith, Arkansas)

What size did you get?

I bought the 16HD with 4.5hp Baldor motor. 16" re-saw capacity. I'll try to take some pic's tommorow. It's a beautiful saw. The ceramic guides look great as does the $225 Re-Saw King blade. One mistake was not taking the motor and table out of the packaging. Probably would have been at least 100 lbs. lighter. I'll use the Grizzly just for ripping which it does quite well. Now I need to get some rest. Lot's to do tommorow.

Congrats, Zootman. New tools! The only thing more fun than getting a new tool is getting new wood. Really looking forward to that waterfall Bubinga arriving.

Woo! Congrats! Even more resawing now, hopefully made a good bit easier! I'm also having a minor moment of power tool envy...I really really really want a bandsaw, and I'd really like it to be a Meber or an Agazzani or similar.

Hope getting it set up and running is more painless than getting it up the stairs was! I mean, wow, 500lbs. Eesh.

Got the machine set up and half the dust collection piping torn out and put back. Just a few final hookups to make. Funny the only old geizer to get hurt was me. JJ I think my young enthusiasum keeps me going.
Steve I have a performax 22-44 plus drum sander. Does a nice job.

Congrats on the new addition! Next time, nail a couple planks to your stairs and lay the saw on it's back and slide it down using some ropes & pulley to lower it down slowly. It will save you a lot of pain!
