Well, I received good news today. I am down to about three years on the waiting list for my Hermann Hauser III guitar. Hauser only makes about 12 guitars a year, so I guess I'm around #36 on the list. It will be a standard Segovia model with German spruce top and Rio Rosewood. I consider myself a player first, builder second, so this is obviously good news that I'm down to about three years. Some of the other world-class builders have waiting lists from 8-15 years. I couldn't imagine having to wait 15 years.

Cheers!

John

Congratulations, John! I've heard that HH III's guitars are the best of all Hausers, but I haven't been fortunate enough to play one yet.

So how long have you been waiting so far?

Best,

Michael

Okay, John, this is a perfect opportunity! While you're waiting, get some Hauser plans and build one yourself. Take your time, do your best, play it for a while and then compare the two in three years.

That's exactly what I'm doing actually. I have 3 guitars on the bench right now ready to close up, all done with the exact specifications of the Brune' 1937 Hauser plans. I followed the plans as close as possible. Something tells me my three just won't have the x-factor of a real Hauser. The Hauser III guitars are so responsive that the entire top and strings will start to vibrate from just normal conversation near the guitar. It's going to be a long three more years!

Probably not, but that's just the point. See, instead of waiting three years and then hoping you can build a guitar that good, you're already on the path to doing just that. Since you're completing three already, I think you'll be surprised just how far along you'll be in 36 months.

John,

Congratulations! Wow, that is too cool. The real deal, a genuine Hauser, I am jealous! I can't play worth beans, but I would love to have one too. Hmmm... I wonder if Hauser IV has a waiting list!

Keep us posted.

Jeff

Happy for you John, the way you describe the sound sure makes the wait worthwhile, you're gonna have fun soon!

Dangerous! What happens if in three years time when the HH arrives and you find that you actually prefer your version!

I guess then he'd be forced to let go of the Hauser III. I'm sure John could find a good home for it somewhere...

If you order now and lock in the price, by the time it's finished it'll be worth a fortune!!
