I realized that I need to remove close to another millimeter after the soundhole was cut. Should I be cautious when further thicknessing after the sound hole has already been cut out? I still have the center circle cut-off that I can fit back in when re-thicknessing.

Thanks,
Ron M.

On a drum sander go right ahead. You won;t cause any damage to the cut out soundhole area.

Ron: Suggest you sand the inside surface if you are removing .040".

Make sure that you have enough wood under your rosette if you are only thicknessing the back.
