No, I don't, but I see an opportunity for some of our talented machinest types here. I bet a lot of us K&K users would be interested, I know I would. Great idea! Who wants to tackle it?

BTW, Tim, I played Marty Raybon's McKnight a little while back in Pigeon Forge. Great guitar! [:Y:]

Thanks for the compliment Wes.

Great ideas guys. Not sure you can anodize K&K caps since they are not aluminum Todd?? I suspect they are either brass or plated steel but I have not stuck a magnet on them to verify?

You can buy the blackener at any model train or hobby shop. The stuff is quite poisonous, so be safe with it. It's also expensive.

Paint it, black.

Thanks for dropping in, Tim. We'll see you again next year, I hope. :|

Tim you could try this :http://www.bluestarmusic.com/Tapastring-Vintage-Jack-for-Guitar-wRt-Angle-Ebony-P798.asp, but I think paint would be much more economical.

Hi Joe,
I had considered the tapered Ebony end pin by Tapastring. However, it uses a vintage style 1/8" jack which isn't nearly as robust as the larger and more common 1/4" jack. Painting the end cap is not an option on this guitar since the customer has requested ebony.Besides, paint would scratch and flake off rather easily unless it was powder coated and besides that technique would be very difficult to keep powder paint paint out of the threads. Thanks for the suggestions though.
